This is the second year Kahuna has offered the Mako Molakai. Made of brushed carbon and at 14 feet in length and 27.5” in width, the Mako Molokai is a very fast, responsive board built for “downwinding" big water. The pintail and aggressive rocker allow the paddler to control speed and carve bottom turns on waves. The Molakai’s large volume and elevated front deck make this an excellent choice for larger paddlers looking for a performance touring SUP.

COFFIN BOARD BAG
coffin style board bag for easy access and storage with an additional handle on the bag.
The MAKO series is built with a 3K carbon fiber overlay material instead of a traditional fiberglass cloth. The 3K carbon fiber is stiffer and lighter than fiberglass resulting in a quicker more responsive board. For additional board strength, a bamboo veneer top and bottom layer is placed over the EPS core. The board is then wrapped with biaxial carbon fiberglass cloth and another layer of 3K carbon for the entire standing zone. Once all the layers are set up by hand, the board is vacuum bagged. The vacuum bag process results in consistent curing and evenly distributed resins throughout the overlapping layers. The MAKO series boards have a unique, one of a kind brushed look, with strong, stiff construction to make these boards true performers on he water.
